340B Drug Pricing Program Reporting

Health care entities that participate as “covered entities” in the federal 340B Drug Pricing Program are required to annually report data related to their 340B prescription drug purchases and payments to the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). MDH submits its findings in annual reports to the Legislature on the reported data each November.

NEW: MDH released revised reporting guidance for public comment—Draft Form and Manner (PDF) and Draft Guidance for Reporting on Administered Drugs (PDF). These documents incorporate statutory changes passed in 2024. Stakeholders may submit comments by emailing health.Rx@state.mn.us by March 21. Reporting entities will have a minimum of six weeks to submit reports following MDH's release of final reporting guidance. MDH will announce final guidance here and via GovDelivery.

To register for the first time, update an existing account, and/or report data, reporting entities should access the online reporting system, Rx Data Portal. Data submitters may visit the Rx Data Reporting Portal Help site for more resources.

Upcoming Implementation Steps 

• March 2025—released updated draft reporting guidance for public comment
• March/April—release finalized reporting guidance and open updated Rx Data Portal to begin submitting 2025 data
• May—revised data submission deadline (from April) for reporting that provides reporting entities sufficient time to incorporate finalized guidance into reporting submissions
