- Almost all adults over the age of 65 have Medicare Part B coverage, either directly or through a Medicare Advantage Plan.
What immunizations does Medicare Part B cover?
- All influenza vaccines.
- Pneumococcal vaccine.
- Medically necessary vaccines (Td for wound management or Hepatitis B for people at intermediate or high-risk).
- COVID-19 vaccine.
Where can a person use Medicare Part B insurance coverage?
- Medical offices, some pharmacies, and some local public health departments.
Medicare Part D
- Prescription benefits.
Who has Medicare Part D coverage?
- Medicare eligible adults who have chosen to enroll in a prescription drug benefit plan.
What immunizations does Medicare Part D cover?
All immunizations not covered by part B, including:
- Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis).
- Zoster (shingles).
- Varicella (chickenpox).
- Hepatitis B - Covered under Part D benefit for people not at high or intermediate risk.
Where can a person use Medicare Part D insurance coverage?
- Pharmacies, some medical offices, and some local health departments.
