HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C Prevention Program for Health Care Professionals

Minnesota passed legislation in 1992 that mandated the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and/or the professional licensing boards to evaluate and monitor licensed health care professionals who have HIV or hepatitis B virus (HBV) (e antigen positive only).

In 2000, the Minnesota legislature added hepatitis C virus (HCV) to the mandate.

This law was repealed by the legislature in 2019, so it is no longer in effect. All program data that was collected will be kept private, per Article 11: Section 104.
