Invasive Candidiasis (IC) Information for Health Professionals:
Sentinel Surveillance Case Definition and Reporting
On January 1, 2017, MDH initiated population-based invasive candidiasis surveillance in the 7-county metro area (Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington Counties). At this time, only reports of bloodstream infections (candidemia) are being requested. Invasive candidiasis is not reportable statewide under the Minnesota Communicable Diseases Reporting Rule.

What to report
- All patients with Candida isolated from blood who are residents of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington Counties must be reported to MDH within one working day.
How to report
- Yellow Disease Report Card
Invasive candidiasis may be reported using the MDH "Yellow Card."
