Sexual Violence Prevention Network

The Sexual Violence Prevention Network (SVPN) is a statewide network that includes bi-weekly E-news as well as quarterly meetings with presentations on sexual violence topics, highlighting prevention.

SVPN Meetings

Anyone working in the field or who has an interest in preventing sexual violence is welcome to attend the quarterly Sexual Violence Prevention Network meetings.

The next SVPN meeting will take place virtually in an exciting two-part series on occupational identity (OI) management and cultivating radical hope, facilitated by Dr. Johnanna Ganz.

Part 1: When It’s More Than “Just a Job”: Foundations of Occupational Identity Management in Mission-Driven Work

Do you check your email on sick days, just in case? Are you worried about taking time off because of what you’ll miss or impacts to others? Do you struggle to limit how much you talk about work? Have loved ones told you “It’s just a job” and that doesn’t feel true for you? If so, this topic is for you! Working in mission-driven roles and organizations, people often see their work as an extension of their core values and sense of self—this is the heart of the strong occupational identity connection. Yet, many do not know how to name or manage this connection. This means that mission-driven people have been stretched further than ever yet care too much to leave until burnout or crisis forces them to leave the job or field. Offering a practical and interactive approach to managing your occupational identity through four core skills building, come ready to find ways to meaningfully engage with your work that builds career sustainability and healthier organizational cultures.

Recording, please note this will remain available until 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

Please note that there are learning materials and a workbook associated with these sessions.

Part 2: Cultivating Radical Hope to Sustain Our Work

There has never been a better or a worse time to be in mission-driven, anti-violence agencies. The ever-shifting landscape, unexpected changes, and holding the social, emotional, and cultural weight of our work can seem unbearable. However, we know that movements are built through community and that hope is a verb—built through action and lived practices. But how do you hold hope for a better future when there is so much conflict? Pain? Confusion? Please join us as we explore how to respond to and sustain our collective work with radical hope.

While none of us have all the answers, we know that relationships within community, intentional conversations, and coordinated actions will help us arrive at some answers to address this moment in our cultural history and experiences. Attendees will investigate the concept of radical hope and its revolutionary potential when paired with strategies of interdependence. A better world is waiting for us to step towards it!

Join this candid conversation to find your footing and build some practical skills for the future of our work, because we will always do better when working together.

Date: Thursday, Jan. 29

Time: 1 – 3 p.m. (CST)

Register: Cultivating Radical Hope to Sustain Our Work
