Drinking Water Revolving Fund
Environmental Review

An environmental review is required for all but exempt drinking water revolving fund projects, and it must be completed before the loan can be finalized.
This process is not difficult, but it will take several months to complete because there are mandatory waiting periods. Generally, the easiest way to proceed is to print a copy of the environmental review checklist and follow it, accessing additional documents or instructions as needed.
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) will also accept environmental reviews approved by another state or federal agency, provided that the review covers the drinking water project, and MDH receives copies of the environmental review record and the other agency’s approval.
