Announcements
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) sponsored a statewide Nursing Home Regulatory call on January 16, 2023.
This call will provided updates on implementation of federal nursing home regulation guidelines as well as the following topics:

As of August 1, 2022, providers holding a valid license from a health-related licensing board (HLB) who has also undergone a background check under Minn. Statutes 214.075, shall not have a background study completed by the commissioner of human services (a NETStudy 2.0 background study).

Moratorium on Certified Boarding Care Home Beds
Minnesota currently has a moratorium (MN Statute 144A.071) restricting the establishment of a new certified Boarding Care Homes or the licensure of additional certified boarding care home beds.
License Renewal
Boarding Care Home licenses are renewed annually. Licensees will receive a renewal notification approximately 60-90 days prior to the expiration date of the license. If you do not receive a renewal notification within 30 days of to the expiration date, please contact Health.HRD-FedLCR@state.mn.us.
